Local Attractions

Situated in Stalham, a small charming town with all local amenities available, set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. There is a small market held every Tuesday and every alternate Saturday a Farmers and Flea market is held in the town hall. If you would like to see more of the Norfolk Broads you are able to take a five minute walk from the park to the local boat hire. A perfect starting point for exploring Norfolk, situated between the beautiful City of Norwich and the coastal resort of Great Yarmouth both just 16 miles away.

Just 4 miles from the coast with award winning beaches such as Happisburgh, Sea Palling and Waxham on the coastal road to Great Yarmouth with Winterton and Hemsby in between and Bacton, Walcott, and Mundesley on the road towards Cromer, Sheringham and the further delights of the picturesque villages of North Norfolk including Holt, Wells, Brancaster and Holkham. Around every corner you will find historic churches, miles and miles of unspoilt countryside teeming with wildlife and relaxed towns with wonderful shops and tempting cafes for that essential cup of tea and naughty but nice cake!

Within approximately 10 miles you will find the locally famous “Lathams” of Potter Heigham and “Roys” of Wroxham where you will be able to purchase that must have bargain! Wroxham is also home to Wroxham Barns where you can watch traditional craftsmen at work as well as visit the junior farm where the children can watch and feed the animals. Day boat hire and river trips on the traditional paddle boat are also available from the centre of Wroxham.

For all members of the family young and old there is much to enjoy in the area such as: Pettitts Animal Adventure Park and Thrigby Hall Wildlife Park, BeWILDerwood (new adventure park opened 2007) and Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park to name a few.

During the summer season you might also be able to see one of the concerts and shows held inside and out at various locations such as Norwich Theatre Royal, University of East Anglia or at one of the many National Trust sites.

A visit to Norfolk offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. People who enjoy a relaxing break away from it all will fall in love with the Norfolk skies and landscapes.
